Adult classes at Over The Moon Studios

At Over the Moon Studios, we offer adult classes during school terms in creative dance, ballet, ballet barre and drama. Adult classes are suitable for dancers of all levels, and aim to foster the joy of dance and creativity.

Adult Ballet for All

Monday 10.45am - Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Monday 11.15am - Intermediate Adult Ballet

Thursday 10.45am - Intermediate Adult Ballet

Thursday 12pm - Beginner Adult Ballet

Adult Ballet for All is a beginner class for adults of all ages and abilities. We aim to enjoy the grace and discipline that is ballet, in an environment that is fun and nurturing for everyone. Adult Ballet for All is taught by previous Australian Ballet Company dancer, Zoey Schmitt.

Adult Creative Dance

Tuesday 7.30pm, fortnightly

Creative dance for adults is appropriate for all levels of dance experience, including complete beginners. The class includes solo and ensemble work. Students are led on an exploration of creativity, expression, improvisation, and connection to self and others using props, design, art, music and teacher guided instruction.

Adult creative is taught by Edna Reinhardt, inspired by her many years of training at Mangala Studios with Dorotea Mangiamele in the 1970s — the very same studio where Michelle Young and Marlena Raymond trained.

Drama for Adults

Tuesday 7.30pm

Adult drama classes will introduce you to:

  • Developing your expressive skills in movement and voice

  • Telling and performing personal and traditional stories

  • Exploring the relationship between movement and text

  • Entering the world of characterisation

  • The joy of working together, or collaborative creativity

This is a SAFE but BRAVE space to venture into the world of creating drama!

Drama for adults is taught be Helen Sandercoe.

Adult Ballet Barre

Tuesday 7.45pm

Adult Ballet Barre is a fitness-based class suitable for adults of all ages and abilities. It is a low impact class and can be modified to accommodate injuries. The class combines elements of ballet, pilates and strength training. Adult Ballet Barre is taught by OTM Alumni and teacher, Holly Button.
